Quilted Table Topper

This little Table Topper was made in a class I took on Saturday at "It's Sew Time" in Elmsdale. Chris Hay taught the class and isn't it nice to have a project completed so quickly. Thanks Chris!

Park Avenue in May. You've got to love it.

Will is finally home for good . . .

Will was readmitted to hospital on Monday morning as his jaundice spiked. The jaundice is quite common in premies, so we didn’t worry too much. He spent all day Monday and Tuesday morning in phototherapy. The hospital took him off the lights for the afternoon to see how he would do and his levels kept dropping so he is a real star and was home by 6:30 pm. The nice thing about this visit was that he received a beautiful baby quilt from being in the special care unit at the hospital. The Ottawa Valley quilters make the quilts for all the little ones admitted to the unit. Lucy has one as well, because she spent time there as a premie.

Now the family can get down to learning what life is like in a house of four (all under one roof). Hope Heather gets some rest.

Lucy’s comment yesterday when she got home from day-care: “Where’s William?” -- not impressed that he was back in hospital. She was delighted when Heather came home from the hospital with Will tonight . . . she ran to the car to help her Mom bring him in, then she wanted to take him visiting to the neighbours. She’s going to be a big help.

Lucy is a good big sister

Lucy is proving to be a big help to her mom. She helped bath her little brother and when he cried, she said "It's okay". So for now she's happy with the larger family. She showed William his new room, and all the stuff and she shared her toys. His cradle was so full of plush that there was no room for William. A very happy little family. Do wish I lived closer.

William Joseph Bernard Nichols

Here is William at 10 hours old. He arrived at 11:59 p.m. on May 13th. Lucy is now a big sister, and she met William this morning at the hospital. He gave her a gift which she took to daycare. She told all her friends about her baby brother and about the "dragon" he gave her. I'm so looking forward to seeing the pictures taken at the meeting.

I have to wait until June 1st to meet my grandson, but it will be a joyous ride having both Lucy and Will in our lives.
